I recently worked on a bedroom refresh for a dear friend of mine. We did lots of wheelin'-n-dealin' to make the most of her budget. But there was one thing that I told her would be absolutely worth the price... good pillow inserts! There's nothing quite as satisfying as a well-fluffed and chopped pillow on a freshly made bed. As a home stager, I have gone Jackie Chan on a number of pillows and it still never gets old!
**DESIGNER TIP: When you are sizing your pillows, the cover should be 2 inches SMALLER than the insert! This gives that full and fluffy look!
For the photo below, we bought 20X20 feather inserts to go with our 18X18 covers on the couch pillows.

You can find the feather inserts in several sizes here. These ones are tried and true that we use for our staging business! They are affordable and effective! They will come extremely deflated. Allow them time to fluff up before you stuff them into your cover. I usually grab each side and rub it in circles trying to feel for any feather clumps that are sticking together.
You can find black velvet covers here. We have bought these in several of the colors and they feel so luxurious! I'm a sucker for adding texture to design. It can change the whole mood of the room. The beige and tan version of this cover both make excellent neutrals!
Just for fun, here is a little before and after of her bedroom refresh!
